Scholastic Book Order

I will be submitting our first Scholastic Book order on Monday, September 28.  If you would like to order any books, please turn in your book order to me by Monday or order your books online!  It is a great way to add inexpensive books to your child's library at home! 

Open House at Pineview

Don't forget that OPEN HOUSE is Tuesday, September 20 at Pineview starting at 6:00-7:00.  This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to show you the classroom and what they have been learning!  I would also like you to sign up for Parent/Teacher Conferences in October during Open House.  Hope to to see you there! 

Sharing in First Grade

The First Graders are doing a great job bringing in their 3 things to share.  This is a great opportunity for the students to speak in front of their classmates and answer questions they might have about their sharing.  The students have been working on ASKING questions instead of TELLING something about the sharing items.  Remember if you get the sharing bag have your child chose 3 items that will fit in the bag to school the next day for their sharing! 

First Week of School!

The first graders had a wondeful first week of school and have been working hard.  We are busy completing assessments and learning new routines and rules of the classroom.  On Wednesday, August 31 the first graders will have DIBELS testing - make sure to get a good nights rest and healthy breakfast on Wednesday morning!  We will not have school on Sept. 5th for Labor Day.  In this picture, Mr. Robison is reading to the first graders during our first week of school. 

FIRST day of School!

Our first day of school is August 23 and we will be dismissing at 2:00!  Make sure to watch the news or listen to the radio JUST in case we dismiss early due to heat...it is suppose to get even hotter these next couple of days! 

Thank you to all who attended Orientation!  It was so fun to meet everyone and hopefully you are just as excited as I am to start the new school year.  Remember if you haven't already return your PINK "News about me" sheet that I sent to you in August so I can learn even more about you and any other paperwork to school.

Orientation - August 22 5:00-6:00

Make sure to visit me and our classroom on August 22 at 5:00-6:00.  This is a great time to explore the classroom and bring your school supplies for the first day of school.  I will also have some paper work for parents to fill out before the first day of school.

Don't forget to keep searching for our monarch caterpillars - they love milkweed so you might be able to find some eggs under the leaves.  They are white and very small.  Bring them to school so we can learn more about the life cycle of the monarch butterfly!
