Ireland Presentation
On Wednesday, the day before St. Patrick's Day, the students listened to Mrs. Burchfield and Mrs. Moore share some information about Ireland. Both of these first grade teachers are Irish and enjoyed sharing some of their Irish heritage with the first graders. The students learned about Ireland, St. Patrick as well as some traditions of Ireland. We also learned why you get pinched if you DON'T wear GREEN on St. Patrick's Day!

What is MAGNETIC in our room?
On Friday, the students explored our room to find items that were magnetic. The students made some good observations and asked some great questions. Why would one magnet work on an object and the other ones wouldn't? Why would certain metals attract to our magnets and others wouldn't? Ask your child what they observed or learned from our experiment!

Partner Reading
Students are reading with partners their story of the week. Mr. Warrington enjoyed listening to the students read when he was visiting the classroom. He was on leave the first part of February from Afghanistan and enjoyed his time in the classroom with all of the students!
